Not often, do I hear a song that garners a review like this but this song kind of inspired me to do just that. Which is why, I’m going to make an effort whenever I can that when a certain song gets released, I will try to review it and give a rating on the song. So, anyways, on with today’s review. If you are friends with me on Facebook, you will no doubt have seen my post in length about the new rap of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles called, “Shell Shock”. Ok, just the title of the song itself, seriously? It just spells disaster. I listened to the song and those are 3 and a half minutes of my life I cannot get back now because I listened to a pile of junk. I didn’t know if I was listening to a song from the new TMNT movie or a Justin Bieber song and the artists chosen to perform the song, seriously? Now, because of the franchise title, the movie will be successful, it will probably be at the top of the box office opening weekend, but the song will probably make a few people ask for their money back! That’s why I think they should’ve just used the theme from the 80s animated series and not do any remixing of it of any kind just use the theme song as is 🙂 Then I would probably spend my hard earned money on going to see the movie but with that song “Shell Shock” staying in the movie?!?!? Well, I now see my hard-earned money going toward something more constructive 🙂 So that’s one advantage of the movie having a crappy song in it, it will save people money and for that, that’s the ONLY reason why I give it the official Rockin’ Rating of:

Hey everyone! Well, not much to update on the Summer of Rockin except that we are live alot LOL. We are mainly live in the middle of the night due to work schedules and we do Saturday afternoon shows as well. Basically not much to report. Until next time!

We here at Rockin WAVES 11294 are proud to announce that we have been SOLD to Cumulus Media Inc. for $2 Million. Now with the sale to Cumulus comes a lot of changes.

– We are changing formats, so within 2 weeks, our new format will be a Time format. Where we announce the time every minute on the minute.
– We will be changing call letters to Rockin WTME 11294, All Time Radio.
– Every March 26th, at 4 PM instead of playing “Fun, Fun, Fun” by The Beach Boys, we will be playing a tone saying its 4 PM on odd number years, and on even number years, at 4 PM on March 26th, we will play “Time Is On My Side” by The Rolling Stones.
– All the DJ’s including Billy Coore, The Flying Scotsman, Yellow, etc., they will still air their shows but instead of music, they will announce the time.

Chris Rogers, FORMER President, CEO, Founder of Rockin WAVES 11294 is thrilled about the sell to Cumulus. “Cumulus Media has had a long history in radio and broadcasting and we are thrilled with the changes in format.”

He also mentions that with the station only playing one song every 2 years, that all the music in the stations library will go up for sale on Ebay with the starting bid of $0.01 and a buy it now option of $2.

Cumulus Media, Inc. has said that the format change to Time Radio will fill a necessary void in the market. Being the first station in the Internet Market to be completely devoted to a Time format.

The slow transition to All Time Radio will start at 5 PM on April 1st, the transition of the new format will occur on Tuesday, April 15th, 2014 at Noon. The final music show will be a special morning show from 6 AM to 9 AM with Chris Rogers on April 15th, the final song will air at 9 AM which according to Chris, “will probably be ‘The Time of My Life’ by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes. It deals with the new format and letting the listeners know that we had the time of our lives with the old format and with Rockin WAVES and that we are looking forward to keep them up to date with the latest time reports.”

After the final song is played, the station will experience 3 hours of Stunting while the final transitions are taking place. At 12 PM on Tuesday, April 15th, the top of the hour ID will play and officially launch the new All Time Ra………

APRIL FOOLS!!!!!!
We kinda had a little fun with this back on the Friday show but, yeah, it’s our yearly April Fools Day prank! Sorry for any pants we may have caused to be soiled and we will try our hardest not to do this sort of stuff again. (Unless we get bored). In the meantime, have fun looking at new Viral YouTube memes by using the #NewTrends!

That’s right ladies and gentlemen! We have just completed the 6 Year Anniversary and now is the time to start planning the Summer of Rockin 2014! I’ve already announced the start date during Friday’s show, but in case you missed it, the start date for the Summer of Rockin will be May 16th, 2014 Now, you may be wondering, why not May 1st like last year? Well, we thought about doing it then, but we realized that it was just way too long and it didn’t really feel like summer on May 1st (I mean, come on, on May 1st last year, we had temps in the 40s!). So, hopefully by starting May 16th, we’ll be at least somewhat Summer-ie. There are a few things that are different this year than in years past which will be explained in this post:

1) There won’t be as many shows this year as there were last year: Last year, I was doing 6 shows a week, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. It was just too much and I was burned out by the end of the Summer, so this year, I will only be doing 3 shows a week, one on Wednesday, Friday and possibly Monday is what I’m shooting for. For the Wednesday show, it will be as always The Midweek Survey Show, on Friday it will always be the Flagship Friday show, as for Monday, well, since we had some success with it last year, we are looking at bringing All Request Mondays back to the network but not positive yet.

2) We will not be site hopping like we were last year: Last year at the launch of the SOR 2013, we were on Ustream, by the end of the summer we had been on JustinTV, and Vaughn. This time, we have basically found our two main sites which are Uvlog and JustCast. We have had success with Uvlog and JustCast and so we are using those 2 sites as our primary broadcasting sites.

Other than those 2 things (which are the only 2 I could think of), everything else will be the same. Now, we don’t have the schedule set in stone, so be sure to check back within a couple of weeks to find out the official schedule. Also, if you are interested in doing a show, let me know! Message me on Facebook or Skype (if you have it) or on YouTube (link in the links section) and I’ll get back to you.

Well, once again, it’s time for an update! Right now, we are making a few changes to the website in case you didn’t know. We decided that since we don’t use the JustinTV feed page, we figured that we would make it into a page that WOULD be used each time we broadcast, so, with that, right now, we are making a page for the JustCast feed and getting rid of the JustinTV settings. We are also doing some general maintenance to keep the site running smoothly.

At the time of this writing, we are coming up on the One Year Anniversary of the BlogTV shutdown. We can’t believe that it’s almost been a year since BlogTV closed its doors. Since BlogTV shut down, we have had 3 different primary broadcasting sites! Ustream, VaughnLive and now Uvlog! It’s been quite a ride this past year but right now, we think we have everything sorted and a good site platform to broadcast from and we are really excited!

We are also excited around The Rockin WAVES 11294 Radio Network because we are quickly approaching our 6th Year Anniversary! And last year, when we were celebrating 5 years and also mourning the shutdown of BlogTV, that day, all the DJ’s went live and did a show on Rockin WAVES and that’s what we are going to try to do again this year (pending if everyone is available). We don’t have all the details ironed out yet but we will let everyone know when it gets closer to time.

We also have a few other ideas that are floating around for the 6 Year Anniversary Show that aren’t official yet but we are still about 2 weeks away. But keep checking back to the Rockin WAVES blog for details and other announcements.

A couple of other changes on the website include our Links section. We have added a few links for a couple of other stations that you can give a listen to when we aren’t broadcasting. They are awesome stations so go check them out!

Monday, President’s Day, Come by for a great show!

And we are continuing to truck along! We have a new DJ on The Rockin WAVES 11294 Radio Network. He also runs Star Radio his name is Charlie and he also has been gracious to simulcast my shows on his station as well which I greatly appreciate. He does his Rockin WAVES show every Tuesday from 3 to 6 PM and will be starting a Friday show that will be after mine so be sure to tune in! Also, in case yall didn’t know, I’m not only part of the SDP Network but I am also part of Stereo DJ Productions (otherwise known as SDJP) which is sort of like the same thing just a different name. We also do All Stereo Marathons (which is like the All Star Show just a different name) and we will be doing our 2nd ever All Stereo Marathon on February 8th and it will be streamed on our Uvlog site but we will also have the Ustream chatroom open just in case yall would like to use Ustream chat instead. Also, it’s very early in the planning stages, but, me and weasel2htm are both planning on putting together an All Star Show for President’s Day weekend. More details on that to come later.

I know I’m about a week late. Oh well. Well, we had a very successful New Year’s show. Even though Uvlog was derping half the time. We made do on Justin 🙂 But anyway, currently, we are testing simulcasting on multiple sites and so far, it’s working fairly well. Anyways, next thing to plan, the 6 Year Anniversary Show!!
